"Overwhelmed, humbled": Yuvraj Singh thanks cricketing legends for attending YouWeCan charity event in London

London [UK], July 10 (ANI): Cricketing legend and former teammate, as well as his family members, were thanked by the former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh as part of the special YouWeCan charity event that he hosted in London on Tuesday, saying that the he and his organisation would not give up in their shared fight against the life-threatening disease.

On Tuesday, ahead of India's third Test at Lords, Yuvraj hosted a special YouWeCan charity event in London. The event featured the participation of Team India, cricketing legends Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Kevin Pietersen and so on.

Taking to X, Yuvraj who fought cancer earlier in 2011 and played the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup battling cancer wrote, "Beyond words, overwhelmed, humbled and grateful! To my friends, family, my past teammates, legends of the game and the Indian cricket team, thank you all of making it here with such love and faith. I've lived through cancer. I understand what it is like to wake up and not know what tomorrow will bring- but I also know what hope is like and it is just like all of you! You have assisted us in fulfilling our commitment, to support cancer fighters in India who are still fighting, still hoping and still holding on. Thanks to walk this way with me! We will continue to fight, we will continue to struggle and we will never surrender. #YouWeCan #YWCGala @YOUWECAN.

During the event, Yuvraj talked to ANI about the historic Indian victory, the first in their history, by 336 runs at Edgbaston in Test 2 and the prodigal run at four by skipper Shubman Gill.

Gill holds top run positions in the series with 585 runs in two Tests, four innings with an average of 146.25, an attacking strike rate of more than 73, his top score being three centuries and a marathon 269 (387 balls) at Edgbaston.

Yuvraj informed ANI that Shubman Gill performed fantastic captaincy and batted well. I am extremely proud of him, I am confident his father will be very proud too...I am highly impressed...I hope that he continues to make hundreds of centuries in international cricket.

In an interview on the performance of team India in the second test match against England, Yuvraj stated that overall performance of the Indian team was great. This was an unbelievable bowling by Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep. Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant did a good job with the bat...I am also very happy with Akash Deep (10-fer) because his sister has recovered her health after her cancer. When I see him I will embrace him immensely.

Regarding the occasion, the cricket icon said to ANI, It is amazing that so many people have come to support me and the foundation, my friends and family, people who have witnessed me fight through cancer...I hope that we can raise a million pounds to-night, otherwise, we will continue doing more good things.
