Royal Orchid Hotels and ICONIQA Partner with Paisa4Plates to Launch Innovative Charitable Initiative

Royal Orchid Hotels and Mumbai's Newest Lifestyle Hotel, ICONIQA, Partner with Paisa4Plates to Launch Innovative Charitable Initiative

Mumbai (Maharashtra), India – October 1: Royal Orchid declares a pioneering cooperation with Paisa4Plates, a charity concept by Aryaveer Baljee, Youth MP Hampshire. The cooperation will begin with ICONIQA Mumbai, the luxurious lifestyle hotel of the group, and introduce a new concept of voluntary giving to all Royal Orchid hotels in India. Guests will have the option of giving back to the homeless by feeding them, giving lunch to the children, and donating to the needy.

From Pounds4Plates to Paisa4Plates

After the success of Pounds4Plates in London, where restaurants have an optional service charge of 0.25 per cent donated to food charities, Aryaveer Baljee has modified this idea to apply to India under the Paisa4Plates name. Inspired by his Indian heritage and driven by social good, the program seeks to instill empathy in hotel guests as it addresses the problem of hunger and homelessness across the country.

A New Model of Giving at Royal Orchid Hotels

Guests staying at the portfolio of over 120 hotels under the Royal Orchid brand—including Regenta, Regenta Place, Royal Orchid, and the new ICONIQA—can voluntarily donate 0.5 per cent of their bill to a cause selected by each hotel under this branded movement. This small but meaningful contribution will have a direct positive impact on local charities serving the homeless, supporting mid-day meals for school children, and helping food donation drives as part of the broader effort to combat hunger in India.

To ensure transparency and guest choice, hotels will inform patrons about the initiative through table tents, digital channels, and other communication materials. Shibani Malhotra, General Manager of ICONIQA Mumbai, expressed enthusiasm about this partnership: “We are excited to collaborate with Paisa4Plates to introduce this impactful program to our clients in India. This aligns with our mission of making travel meaningful for everyone. By providing our guests with an opportunity to give back to such an important cause, we aim to make a difference across many communities in India.”

Empathy Meets Hospitality

Aryaveer Baljee, founder of Paisa4Plates, shared his excitement for the collaboration, emphasizing that hospitality is not only about service but also about bridging and enriching communities. “Following the successful launch of Pounds4Plates in the UK, I was inspired to adapt this model to India, where it can have an even greater impact. Partnering with ICONIQA and Royal Orchid Hotels—brands with a strong and growing presence in India—enables us to execute this program at scale and make a visible difference in the lives of the hungry and homeless.”

The Paisa4Plates movement is designed to be sustainable and low-barrier. By engaging hotels as intermediaries, it encourages goodwill and positive guest interaction while empowering them to act as catalysts for community transformation. The initiative will be rolled out in late 2025 across all Indian properties of Royal Orchid, with plans to expand in partnership with local NGOs and food banks.

Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility

Wyndham Hotels + Resorts, the global partner brand associated with Royal Orchid, has long been committed to corporate responsibility. The company emphasizes community initiatives and sustainability across its operations. This collaboration with Paisa4Plates enhances Wyndham’s ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking, reduce environmental impact, and promote social welfare—reflecting its philosophy of doing well by doing good.

A Vision for Meaningful Travel

The Paisa4Plates initiative transforms the idea of luxury hospitality by weaving social purpose into every stay. For guests, it offers an easy way to contribute to meaningful causes. For the brand, it reinforces its identity as a socially responsible leader in the Indian hospitality industry. Through this partnership, Royal Orchid Hotels and ICONIQA Mumbai are redefining what it means to travel—making each stay a step toward feeding someone in need.
